Delete your account

You can delete your Beacon account at any time — your message, your recipient's contact details, your check-in schedule, and your account record all go with it. Deletion is permanent: once your account is gone, no message is delivered under any future condition.

Delete from inside your account

If you can sign in, deletion is self-serve:

  1. Sign in at milkweed.foundation, or open the Beacon app.
  2. Go to Account.
  3. Choose Delete my account and confirm with the email or phone on your account.

Deletion takes effect immediately: your Beacon is turned off, nothing is delivered, and any active subscription is canceled.

Can't sign in?

Email privacy@milkweed.foundation from the email address on your account and ask us to delete it. We verify the request against the account email, then delete the account for you. No app install or sign-in is required.

What is deleted, and when

  • Your message content is kept for 30 days after deletion (so an accidental deletion is recoverable), then purged.
  • Your account record, recipient contact details, and check-in schedule are deleted with the account.
  • Records our payment processor (Stripe) must keep for tax and accounting compliance are retained as required by law.
